  The success of William Hill Winery and the hillside vineyards Bill had developed over the previous twenty years only fueled his desire to continue his search for American Grand Cru vineyards. He set his sights beyond the hillsides of Napa Valley and set out to discover the uncharted vineyard potential of the Golden State and beyond, including Sonoma, Mendocino, California’s Central Coast, Oregon and Washington State.To do so, Bill forged a partnership with another associate from William Hill Winery, Richard Wollack. Richard had served on the Board of Directors at William Hill Wine Co. from 1989 to 1991. His extensive background in real estate and broad experience in business financing coupled with Bill Hill’s expertise in vineyard development and viticulture made the two a perfect team.
